November’s solo support series event will focus on setting up a legal practice, specifically practice area selection, office set up and staff hiring. This is a great opportunity to learn about the initial details of setting up your own practice. This event will take place this Thursday, October 27, from 4:00-5:30pm. Panelists include Jacque Ramos, Jenna Merchant & Zeke Dumke. A light dinner will be provided.

Jenna Merchant, Jenna S. Merchant, Attorney at Law, P.L.L.C.
Jenna is a 2009 graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law. During her 1L year, Jenna she worked at her dad’s pharmacy on the weekends to try to lower her student loan debt. Her first summer, Jenna interned with Judge Toomey, an internship she set up on her own. Jenna also worked with the Salt Lake Legal Defender’s Association until she passed the bar and opened her own firm in 2009. In her spare time she loves to play softball. She also volunteers for and coaches for a softball team.

Jacque M. Ramos, Esq. is the founder and owner J. Ramos Law Firm P.L.L.C. Jacque maintains a general civil litigation practice encompassing numerous subject areas mostly, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, intellectual property, commercial law, and immigration. In recent years, Jacque has become interested and gained experience in litigating criminal actions, business disputes, and land disputes.
Jacque graduated from the University of Utah in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Indiana University School of Law in 2005. She was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2005 and the Nevada State Bar in 2010.
In August 2005, Jacque joined the law office of Moriarity, Badaruddin & Booke, where she received training and experience in providing quality legal work and zealous client representation in cases involving personal injuries, commercial disputes, or other violations of basic human rights. Prior to joining Moriarity, Badaruddin & Booke, Jacque served as law clerk at the Copyright Management Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. Her work included researching and analyzing all aspects of copyright law. She was responsible for drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, assignments, and other agreements.
Before she embarked on her legal career, Jacque worked as an Insurance Account Representative servicing large local, national, and international commercial businesses. Her duties included underwriting, rating, and marketing insurance coverage for Professional and Entity liability, Director and Officers liability, Errors and Omissions liability, Workers Compensation liability, and Medical Malpractice liability. Jacque is a thankful mother of Estela Marie Ramos (2 years old) and wife of Alejandro Ramos, a born Venezuelan.
Zeke Dumke, Dumke Law, LLC
Ezekiel “Zeke” Dumke IV, is a Managing Partner at Dumke Law whose practice specialties includes complex civil litigation, intellectual property management and enforcement, and small business and corporate contacting and advising.
Prior to his position at Dumke Law, Zeke was acting as a Business Contract and Trademark Litigation Associate at Howard, Phillips & Anderson, one of the top trademark litigation firms in the nation.
After graduating from Westminster College with undergraduate degrees in Economics and Business, he left Utah and obtained a J.D. from University of San Francisco School of Law (“USF”). At USF Zeke participated in the IP Internet Justice Project and contributed to and edited the USF IP Bulletin. Additionally Zeke has obtained an M.B.A. from Bond University, Queensland, Australia, where he specialized in International Business and Entrepreneurship.
Zeke and his wife, Analecia, recently moved back to Salt Lake City with their two young children. Following in his family’s tradition, Zeke is an entrepreneur at heart. While he continues to serve his clients’ needs specializing in Intellectual Property Management and Protection, as well as Business Transactions and Structure, he is also pursuing a small business of his own. He enjoys the opportunity to meet with emerging and growing companies and provide counsel to help them grow and develop.
