Christian Johnson, the Hugh B. Brown Presidential Endowed Chair in Law, spoke at the First Middle East Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance & Banking, October 12, 2014, in Dubai. Johnson discussed the global emerging trends in derivative regulation, focusing in particular on the move to clearing over-the-counter derivatives and trade reporting. Participants at the conference came from all over the world, including India, Nigeria, Turkey, Greece and Dubai. During the trip, Johnson also lectured to graduate students at the British University at Dubai on the practical difficulties of reforming the OTC derivative markets.
