Jorge Contreras, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was quoted in a December 3, 2014, Bloomberg story, “Qualcomm Grip Risked as Intel, Microsoft Seek New Rules.”
As explained in the story, Qualcomm is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile-phone chips. The company’s competitors are backing a proposal to “prevent what they say are excessive fees charged for licensing technology in Wi-Fi standards now essential to connect computers, phones and tablets to the Internet,” according to the article.
