University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Professor Jorge Contreras will speak at the American Antitrust Institute’s International Antitrust Roundtable addressing “Critical Issues in Global Antitrust – Comity, Intellectual Property, and Due Process”. The event will be held at the National Press Club in Washington on Feb. 8.
In addition, Contreras’ article, “Genetic Property,” recently appeared as the lead article in Volume 105 of the Georgetown Law Journal. In the article, Contreras argues that giving individuals property interests in their genetic information will hinder valuable biomedical research, but legal rules should be put in place to protect individuals from abusive research practices.
