3L Peña authors Salt Lake Tribune op-ed on human trafficking

RQ9A1524Nubia Peña, a 3L at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, wrote an op-ed published in the January 25, 2016 edition of The Salt Lake Tribune titled, “Human trafficking happens here, and the victims need our help.” Pena is founder and president of the Social Justice Student Initiative and is spearheading a February 19, 2016 event on sex trafficking.

“We must acknowledge that victimhood and criminality are intimately intertwined and find a way to separate the two in order to effectively address trafficking in our community and better serve those most impacted by modern day slavery.”
