PDO is here full-time over the summer. Feel free to drop in, email (Anneliese.Booher@law.utah.edu Jaclyn.email@example.com) for an appointment, or call us. Watch your email for important information from us, as well as a bi-weekly Career Brief. If you are around, PDO has also several important programs during the summer months.
First, the Solo Support Series continues with a series of evening “boot camp” workshops taught by Kyle Hoskins. These will cover establishing a business plan, marketing, and pitfalls to avoid in setting up a private practice. They will be held the evenings of May 17, 18, and 19. You must RSVP to the Professional Development Office and plan to attend all three nights. Click this link to RSVP: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dG54RWJPcXNmeDVobUVGTndjYl9jdmc6MQ#gid=0.
Second, the “Mentor Lunch Program” runs during May – June. Network over lunch with an attorney and a few other students at a downtown restaurant of the attorney’s choosing. Within the next week or two PDO will send out an email announcing the mentor attorneys/lunch dates, and student sign-ups will begin. Most attorneys are willing to take a group of three or four students to lunch.
Third, plan to attend a Résumé and Cover Letter refresher workshop – Taught by Anneliese Booher on Wednesday, June 22, at 12:15 in Borchard.
Fourth, there will be a “Group Counseling”/Fall Recruiting Q&A workshop taught by Anneliese Booher on Wednesday, July 27, at 12:15, Room TBA.
Remember, the application period for fall on campus recruiting begins July 20 and ends July 31. The first day of interviews is August 22 (the day before school starts).
