Cullen Archer (Directed Research)
Cullen is currently a third year law student at the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law. Cullen graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.A. in Chemistry and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Doctor of Medicine. Cullen has returned to law school after practicing Obstetrics & Gynecology for many years and is focusing his studies on healthcare law and intellectual property. He volunteers at the Pro Bono Initiative Medical-Legal Clinic. He is also an avid golfer, scuba diver, and antiquarian book collector.
Danny Barber (Biolaw Fellow – Medical Ethics)
Danny is currently a second year law student at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he is a member of the Utah Law Review. Danny graduated with an honors degree from Westminster College, receiving a B.S. in Neuroscience. Prior to law school, Danny worked as an analytical chemist and spent time in Utah’s venture community while obtaining his MBA from Westminster College. Danny is actively pursuing an interest in Intellectual Property law, and spent his 1L summer clerking for Austin Rapp & Hardman. For his 2L summer, he will be joining Maschoff Brennan as a summer associate. In his spare time, he enjoys many outdoor activities including running, hiking, and exploring Utah’s mountains.
Kathy Bradshaw (Biolaw Fellow – Guardianship Project)
Kathy Bradshaw worked in public education from 1998-2012. She has held the position of counseling, school psychologist and special education administrator. In 2012 she was admitted to law school at SJ Quinney College of Law. She is interested in the area of disability law and is currently the Biomedical Fellow assigned to the Guardianship Project.
Vikrant Deshmukh (Directed Research)
Vik is currently a second year law student (part-time) at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, and a Team Lead at the University of Utah Health Care Enterprise Data Warehouse. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics and an M.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Utah. Prior to attending the U., he attended the University of Mumbai, where he received an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, and a B.Sc. in Botany and Biotechnology. Vik is interested in studying law and policy related to electronic healthcare data for primary use (clinical care) and secondary use (research, reporting, etc.), identifying deficiencies and developing recommendations.
Daniel Goaslind (Biolaw Fellow – American Society for Pharmacy Law)
Daniel is currently a second year law student at the S.J. Quinney College of Law and a Center for Law and Biomedical Sciences Fellow. Daniel graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Political Science and is planning on pursuing a career in health care law. He is an avid Utah Jazz fan, an outdoor enthusiast wannabe, and a future father to be.
Michelle Kevern (Center for Medical Innovation Fellow)
Michelle is currently a third year law student at the S.J. Quinney College of Law. Michelle graduated from the University of Utah in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in cello performance and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. Michelle plans to practice patent law upon graduation. Michelle’s interests include music, interior design, and photography.
Austen Paulsen (Center for Medical Innovation Fellow)
Austen is currently a second year law student at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and a Center for Medical Innovation Fellow. Austen graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and is planning on pursuing a career in intellectual property law. He is an avid mountain biker, snowboarder, runner, weight lifter and lover of all things outdoors.
Micah Vorwaller (Medical-Legal Clinic, Student Director)
Micah is currently a third year law student at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney college of Law. Micah graduated from the University of Utah in 2009 and subsequently worked for ARUP Laboratories until beginning law school. At ARUP Micah performed a variety of functions such as medical test methodology research and the building of a federal, state, and agency licensure database for referral testing laboratories across the nation. His legal interests are in those areas associated with the sciences, medicine, and health. Micah is an avid soccer fan and enjoys both watching and playing as time permits.
Travis Walker (Biolaw Fellow)
Travis is currently a second year law student at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Travis graduated from the University of Utah in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science, B.S. in International Studies, and a B.A. in Communications. He also worked for the United Nations and graduated from the London School of Economics with a B.S. in Sociology before returning to Utah. His legal interests are Health Care Law and Politics. Travis owns a golden retriever and enjoys camping with his family in the mountains by Park City.
