Minority Law Caucus Auction April 10

On Thursday, April 10 the Minority Law Caucus student organization will host their annual auction and fundraiser. Auction items are donated by College of Law faculty, staff, local businesses and students. Proceeds go directly to fund MLC scholarships and events. The auction’s tradition spans almost three decades, beginning when 3L Bob Flores hosted the first of its kind during the 1986-87 academic year.

Kate Conyers, ’08 and recipient of an MLC scholarship, shared this reflection. “Participating in the MLC annual auction and receiving a scholarship from MLC has afforded me opportunities to meet local attorneys who have encouraged me to get more involved in bar organizations. I can’t imagine being a lawyer without also being involved in UMBA, YLD, WLU, SLCBA, and other organizations and their various projects. MLC was the catalyst for all of it.”

The 30+ prizes range from homemade fajita marinade to an 8-person weekend stay at a cabin by Strawberry Reservoir, from gift certificates and Bees tickets to a 2015 Sundance Film Festival package.

Nicolas Wilde, president of the MLC, would like to invite all members of the legal community to attend. “We have had some generous items donated this year. I would encourage students, professors, and lawyers to look over the list and consider coming out and bidding on some of these items. The proceeds from the auction will be used to create scholarships for deserving students.”

Come participate in the fast-paced and fun-filled MLC auction. Don’t miss it!
