Chibli Mallat, a Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, published a new op-ed, “Democracy in Iraq beyond the elections,” in the April 1 edition of the Lebanon Daily Star.
The article examines the political situation in Iraq after Prime Minister Nouri Maliki’s loss in that country’s recent election.
“Iraq has long taught analysts and political leaders that they should be cautious predicting the turn of events,” Mallat writes. “This is no less true now, but I will venture a few remarks of a prospective nature.”
