Johnson Speaks on Clearing at Central Bank of Ireland

On June 27, Christian Johnson, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law,  spoke at the Central Bank of Ireland on issues relating to clearing over-the-counter derivatives. His talk was titled “The Brave New World of OTC Derivatives Clearing: Comparing the U.S. and the European Regulatory Approaches” and focused on the various advantages, disadvantages and challenges on clearing. The talk built upon Johnson’s recent article,  “A Primer on Clearing OTC Derivatives:  A Buyside  Blueprint for Implementation,” (written with Laura Dicioccio) that was published in the Futures & Derivatives Law Report in June.
