Christian Johnson, a professor of law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, spoke recently in New York and Chicago on the impact of the Dodd-Frank over-the-counter derivative reforms. The programs focused on the status of clearing OTC derivatives and on the inherent legal, technical and practical difficulties of clearing and trading them on exchanges. On March 11th, Professor Johnson presented Understanding OTC Derivative Clearing, as part a Chicago Bar Association Program on Dodd-Frank and Derivatives. On March 10th, he presented a two-hour program titled Reforming OTC Derivative Markets, at a CLE program in New York, New York.
