Christian Johnson, a professor of law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, made several presentations on OTC derivative reforms during May. In Chicago, Johnson presented “OTC Derivatives Clearing: Separating Hype from Hope,” to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Working Group on Financial Markets. During the same trip, he discussed the new Collateral Dispute Resolution Procedures for the Chicago Bar Association. Finally, Johnson provided a legislative update as part of the Thomson West Webinar titled “The Derivatives Debate: The Market Role and the Road to Regulation.” Johnson appreciated the assistance of Alexandra Foster, a 3L this fall, in developing the materials on clearing.
