George Provides Commentary at Public Interest Law Conference

On December 2, Erika George, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, provided conference commentary on Professor Lucie White’s book Stones of Hope: How African Activists Reclaim Human Rights to Challenge Global Poverty. The session was part of the Public Interest Law Gathering held at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

According to conference organizers, the session presented an opportunity to engage in a dialogue about some of the main insights gained from the book Stones of Hope, and also as a brainstorming opportunity to explore potential avenues to relay and diffuse both some of those insights and the methodological approach the authors used for this work.

George took courses in civil procedure and poverty law from White at Harvard. Later, White helped facilitate George’s first visit to South Africa.
