Lincoln Davies, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was recently awarded the prestigious McCloy Fellowship in Environmental Policy sponsored by the American Council on Germany.

As a fellow, Davies will travel to Germany for three weeks and conduct research comparing U.S. renewable energy policies, which focus on renewable portfolio standards, with German policies, which focus on feed-in tariffs. He will also interview stakeholders there and here to assess how well the laws work, what stumbling blocks they face, and what makes them more or less effective.

Davies’ work in Germany will build on his extensive research on renewable energy, including his recent articles, Power Forward: The Argument for a National RPS, Incentivizing Renewable Energy Deployment: Renewable Portfolio Standards and Feed-In Tariffs, and State Renewable Portfolio Standards: Is There a ‘Race’ and Is It ‘To the Top’?
