College of Law to Host Pro Bono Celebration Oct. 25 (Video)

On Monday, October 25 at 12:15 p.m., the University of Utah S.J. College of Law will host “Utah Celebrates Pro Bono 2010.” The event will feature Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell (Class of 1975), who will deliver a short address, as well as Utah State Bar President Robert Jeffs, who will provide the welcoming remarks, and Dean Hiram Chodosh who will deliver the keynote address. The program is sponsored by the College of Law, the Pro Bono Initiative, the Utah State Bar, and Utah Legal Services.

Utah Celebrates Pro Bono 2010 is part of the National Pro Bono Celebration, sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA). In the words of the ABA, “The Celebration is a coordinated national effort to meet the ever-growing needs of this country’s most vulnerable citizens by encouraging and supporting local efforts to expand the delivery of pro bono legal services, and by showcasing the great difference that pro bono lawyers make to the nation, its system of justice, its communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve.”
