Hiram Chodosh, Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, and Wayne Porter, a Captain in the U.S. Navy, published a co-authored op-ed in the Washington Times on March 30, 2010.
Their commentary, “Putting our veterans back to work,” argues that American interests at home and abroad would be best served if the country were to create a distributed national service academy to draw on the experience of military veterans. The authors argue that, “By investing in a tailored educational program to support national service, and by providing our veterans an opportunity to grow professionally while applying their experience, we can build upon American values to sustain our prosperity and security for generations to come.”
