This month we welcomed our new JD and MLS classes to the S.J. Quinney College of Law. We’re thrilled to celebrate their academic achievements, as well as the diversity of backgrounds and experiences that they bring to our community.
In terms of academic credentials, this is the strongest JD class to ever join the college: Their 3.87 median GPA is the highest in our history, and their 163 median LSAT is in the top 15% nationally. We are also proud that 94% of our 1Ls received merit scholarships—our highest percentage ever, and a reflection of our commitment to keeping legal education affordable and accessible for all students.
Similarly, our new MLS class boasts an abundance of talent and a wide range of personal and professional experiences. Among incoming MLS students, 61% identify as female and 24% identify as students of color. Further, 39% were the first generation in their families to earn an undergraduate degree, and fully 19% already have at least one graduate degree. This is a testament to their drive and dedication—and to the richness of perspective that they bring to the college.
