Wallace Stegner Center Sends Teams to Moot Court Competitions

Sep 01, 2022 | Stegner Center

The Wallace Stegner Center is proud to support the student teams that compete for the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition at Pace Law School in New York and the National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition at West Virginia University (WVU) College of Law.

This year, our Pace Law School moot court team will be coached by Elisabeth Parker, Adjunct Faculty and Research Associate, University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Team members include Lauren Hawkes, Rachel Heathcote, and Jensen Lillquist. Our West Virginia University team will be coached by Matthew Moscon, a partner in the Salt Lake City Office of Mayer Brown and an adjunct professor at the law school. Student team members include Lauren Cormany and Carter Moore.

We appreciate the significant past support from former team members, College of Law alumni, local law firms, and members of the bar that has made it possible for our students to participate in these annual moot court competitions and are reaching out again this year for donations to support our student teams. After two years of virtual competitions due to Covid-related restrictions, the National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition at West Virginia University (WVU) College of Law will be held in person this year. The National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition at Pace Law School in New York will be held virtually again this year.

Please join the Stegner Center in extending our best wishes to our coaches and teams as they prepare for these national competitions.
