The S.J. Quinney College of Law has achieved its highest-ever ranking in the 2024 Scholarly Impact of Law School Faculties study, placing #30 overall. This milestone also positions the College among the top 10 public law schools in the country, highlighting its influence in legal scholarship.
Published biennially, the scholarly impact study evaluates the influence of law schools across the country based on faculty citations in legal journals over the past five years—a key measure of research impact. The College of Law’s ranking reflects the significant contributions of its faculty to the legal field, representing a notable rise from previous years.
“This is a tremendous achievement for our institution,” said Dean Elizabeth Kronk Warner. “Being ranked not only in the top 30 overall but also as one of the top 10 public law schools demonstrates the strength and influence of our faculty’s scholarship. Their work is shaping critical legal debates and impacting policy at the national level.”
The study, conducted by researchers at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, is recognized as one of the most significant metrics of scholarly influence within the legal academy.
As the College of Law continues to expand its research impact, this ranking confirms its place among the nation’s most respected law schools—both public and private—and is a testament to its faculty’s influence within academia and throughout our community.
