The Wallace Stegner Center at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law was pleased to host the Annual Natural Resources Law Teachers Workshop on July 22, 2023. The Workshop was sponsored by The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (FNREL) and was held on Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of FNREL’s 69th Annual Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The objective of the annual workshop is to encourage and support the work of scholars (full-time, adjunct, fellows) in the fields of natural resources and energy law and policy. A request for abstracts was sent by FNREL and Professor Monika Ehrman in spring 2023 to law school faculty working in these areas. Presenters were invited to present abstracts, partial, or full papers, with the goal of getting helpful feedback on works-in-progress. The workshop also provides an annual forum for building relationships and increasing the sense of community among natural resources and energy law scholars.
More than twenty law professors from across the country joined the law teachers workshop. In commenting on the program, Stegner Center Director and University Distinguished Professor Bob Keiter, noted, “The Annual Natural Resources Law Teachers Workshop is an important opportunity for our community of scholars to gather each year in support of each other’s scholarship so it was truly an honor for the Stegner Center to host this year’s gathering at the S.J. Quinney College of Law.”
