An op-ed by Arnold Reitze, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, appeared in The Salt Lake Tribune on February 12, 2014.
Titled “EPA won’t save Utah from its own bad air,” Reitze’s editorial analyzes the various causes of Utah’s current air quality problems before concluding, “[A]ir quality improvement is unlikely to occur unless the Utah legislature gives . . . state agencies more authority to create a Utah solution. This will require continued attention to improving mass transit, limiting highway construction, discouraging urban sprawl, tightening building codes and encouraging energy conservation and the use of non-fossil fuel.”
