Professor Contreras served as Chair of the Art Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) and organized a series of events at the intersection of art and law. One such event, held in April 2021, considered the new book Painting Constitutional Law, which features ten original paintings by Florida artist Xavier Cortada, each depicting an important Supreme Court case. The editors, the artist and several contributors engaged in a lively discussion of the intersection of art and law.
