The Journal of Land, Resources & Environmental Law (JLREL) has changed its name to the Utah Environmental Law Review (UELR). According to the UELR editorial board, the name change was made for two reasons: first, to more appropriately reflect “the interrelationship of everything in the environment,” and second, to “more clearly recognize the journal’s affiliation” with the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, the Wallace Stegner Center for Land, Resources & the Environment, and the longstanding tradition of excellence in environmental legal scholarship at Utah.
Faculty advisor Lincoln Davies, an associate professor at the College of Law, said the name change was made after careful consideration and consulting with the Stegner Center faculty, the current UELR editorial board, alums, and Dean Hiram Chodosh. Davies noted, “Utah has long had one of the most preeminent environmental law faculties in the nation. Currently, we have more than 10 faculty members who research, write, and teach in the field. It is only appropriate that the name of our environmental law journal reflect this tradition—and the hard work the student editors put into producing the Utah Environmental Law Review.” For a list of current articles, please link online to http://epubs.utah.edu/index.php/jlrel/issue/current.
