Governor Gary Herbert has appointed Professor Lincoln Davies to a state energy task force. The task force, called the Energy Team, is a part of Governor Herbert’s Your Utah, Your Future program, a statewide initiative aimed at helping proactively plan how to meet Utah’s future growth challenges. It is estimated that Utah’s population will double by 2050.
The Your Utah, Your Future Energy Team will focus on planning an developing energy, delivery infrastructure, and disaster resilience in the state. The team includes experts in energy, infrastructure, and disaster resilience, including members of industry, government, and NGOs. The team is tasked with soliciting and evaluating planning strategies on these issues, helping frame a public outreach process, and developing a set of recommended strategies.
“I am honored to be a part of this process,” Davies said. “As a native Utahn, I have a deep love and respect for our state and understand that energy issues are some of the most pressing, interesting, and important of our time.”
Professor Davies joined the College of Law faculty in 2007. He is a nationally recognized expert in energy law and policy. The Your Utah, Your Future initiative is headed by Envision Utah, a national leader in developing community-based planning and strategies.
