We are excited to announce the creation of the Family Law Society at the S.J. Quinney College of Law! The society was formed to encourage and facilitate student’s participation in and commitment to the practice of family law. We’ve been so pleased with the response we’ve received by students who are interested in practicing family law. Whether you plan on practicing family law exclusively, making it part of your practice, or simply having to answer your neighbor’s questions about divorce and custody, the Family Law Society will help you!
By connecting students with prospective employers and employers with prospective employees, the Family Law Society is bridging the gap between the classroom and the community. To this end, the Friends of Family Law Program was created. Members of the legal community who practice family law have agreed to be contacted by members of the Family Law Society. These contacts can consist of asking questions, going out to lunch, visiting an office, reviewing a resume, or even observing in court. It’s a great vehicle to get those interested in practicing family law into the community.
The Family Law Society maintains a website combining information on upcoming events, pro bono opportunities, resources for practicing family law, and current events. It allows all those interested in family law to stay up to date on everything related to family law. Feel free to hop on by and see the latest and greatest from the Family Law Society!
The website is available at: www.thefamilylawsociety.com
And don’t miss our upcoming event on MARCH 4, 2013 at 12:15 in room 106!
