At the conclusion of the session, the College will evaluate the outcome and make the appropriate changes to the language associated with the list below. The Salt Lake County Bar Association Endowed Scholarship was established to help JD students finance the costs of attending law school. The selection committee will seek candidates committed to practicing law in Salt Lake County after graduating from law school and who have demonstrated resilience and grit in the face of adversity (hardships not limited to the students’ time in law school).

Benefits


One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in fall semester.

Eligibility


This scholarship application is open to currently enrolled first- or second-year law students.

Application requirements and selection


Applicants must submit the following:

  • current resume
  • written personal statement (no more than 500 words) that addresses the criteria in the scholarship description
  • unofficial College of Law transcript

The selection committee, which includes Utah Law deans and/or faculty and a Salt Lake County Bar Association executive committee representative, may choose to interview finalists and will choose the recipient.
