As this nation’s population becomes increasingly more diverse, diversity in the judiciary has become a pressing concern for diverse communities seeking representativeness in the court system. Join the Minority Law Caucus for a discussion with members of the Utah judiciary about the importance of diversity in the judiciary in the State of Utah and in the nation as a whole.
Panelists include Judge Su Chon of the Third District Court, Judge Renee Jimenez of the Third District Juvenile Court, and Judge Tupakk Renteria of the Third District Juvenile Court. Panelists will be discussing their own experiences as members of the Utah judiciary, including their path to the bench and their thoughts on increasing diversity in the judiciary. The panel will be open for questions after the discussion. This event will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12:15pm-1:15pm at the S.J. Quinney College of Law in Room 107.
Lunch will be provided.
