The Young Alumni Association (YAA) is comprised of all S.J. Quinney College of Law alumni who graduated within the past decade. The YAA provides opportunities to remain connected to the Utah Law community, give back to the College of Law, and connect recent graduates with resources as they navigate the early stages of their legal careers. The YAA and its programming is guided by the YAA Board and supported by College of Law staff.

Young Alumni Association Board
The Young Alumni Association Board is comprised of two representatives from every graduating class in the last decade. The board is responsible for guiding YAA program offerings through ad hoc committees, executing said programming with support of College of Law staff, and providing insight and support for the continued growth and success of the S.J. Quinney College of Law. The YAA board meets on a monthly basis from August – May, in addition to ad hoc committee meetings as needed.

The Young Alumni Board, which operates and facilitates the fall firm crawl, has passed a policy giving preference to firms in the following order:
- Young Alumni Board members’ firms: The firms employing Young Alumni Board members receive priority.
- Donors to the Barbara Dickey Scholarship Fund: Firms that have donated at least $1,500 to the Barbara Dickey Scholarship, administered by the YAA, within the last fiscal year are prioritized next. The Barbara Dickey Scholarship goes to a graduating law student to help with post-graduation costs, including bar exam prep courses, living expenses, and other costs, until the student passes the bar exam and begins working.
- Annual Utah Law Alumni Awards sponsors: Firms that were table sponsors at the Annual Alumni Awards within the last fiscal year receive the next level of priority.
- General invitation: If spots remain, the YAA fall firm crawl committee may invite any qualifying firm at its discretion.
