Brown and Francis participate in panel discussion on problems in medical device industry

The Utah Film Center recently hosted a screening of the documentary The Bleeding Edge, which explores problems in the medical device industry.

Following the documentary, University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Professors Leslie Francis and Teneille Brown spoke on a panel to discuss the film and how the $400 billion medical device industry has become detrimental to some in America.

Francis and Brown are both part of the College of Law’s Center for Law and Biomedical Sciences.The center, launched in 2015, is designed to offer resources and academic support on issues tied to improving health law as it relates to the rapidly evolving areas of health policy, the life sciences, biotechnology, bioethics and the medical and technological arts, in order to help overcome critical health care challenges.
