Johnson quoted by Bloomberg BusinessWeek News

Christian Johnson, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was quoted by Bloomberg Businessweek regarding recent standards developed by the Bank of International Settlements. The standards deal with collateralizing uncleared over-the-counter derivatives. When asked about restrictions on the re-use of collateral by secured parties, Johnson said, “The dealers are just going to squeal if that right gets taken away from them. It’ll put tremendous pressure on dealers. It just exponentially raises the amount of collateral they’ll have to have.”
